Powering the replay cam index coilAs soon as the search index coil is energized, power is fed into the winner unit disc via the magic screen unit disc, and for payout to happen we want it to squirt out along that horizontal yellow line #29-5 at the bottom of the schematic. We start at the top at wire #54 which feeds the juice into the search index unit switch. The magic screen unit disc is in the path to cut off the circuit when the screen is not is a position where section scoring is possible (e.g. the screen home position), and the current exits this guy and heads over to the winner unit.
The winner unit feeds the standard 3/4/5 winner circuits, which pass through the score discs and replay counter discs. The score disc and replay counter discs are what cut off the payout when the correct level is reached. More details on these circuits are covered elsewhere. These some additional complexity in the circuits associated with the 2-in-blue (super blue) and golden game payouts which we won't cover. Note also a couple switches marked "winner unit close at zero". These switches are what connect the inline payout into the circuits.
Replay cams indexPayout is occuring while the replay cams index coil is powered.
The coil is powered by the yellow line coming in from the right at the bottom. In addition, the blue circuit keeps the search index coil and the replay cams index coil powered while the replay register and meters are stepping up via CU cam switch 13. So if the yellow circuit is powering things, what's the point of the blue circuit? It's there to provide the current path for the coils during high current draw in the payout cycle. It keeps some of the power out of the printed circuit replay counter disc traces. Sustained power through those has a tendancy to cause burning and pitting of the traces.
